Terms and Conditions
ACADEMIA DE SALSA TERMS & CONDITIONS
Effective Date: 29.10.25
These terms help us keep a fun, friendly and safe environment while dancing together. By booking or participating in any classes, courses, events, memberships, private lessons or vouchers with Academia de Salsa (“we”, “our”, “us”), you agree to the following.
1. What We Offer
We provide group dance classes, courses, social events, private tuition, gift vouchers and other dance-related services such as events management and agency work. Our programme may evolve and change to meet the needs of our clients and community.
2. Booking & Payment
• Payment is required to secure your place
• Spaces are limited and allocated first-come, first-served so we recommend booking online
• You may join a Beginners course up until week 3. No discount will apply as the membership comprises unlimted class access.
• Drop in sessions are permitted at all levels except for Beginners and Improvers A levels and are chargeable at a rate of £12.50 for one class or £15 for 2 classes on a given night. You can pay by card or cash on the night for these sessions.
3. Unlimited Membership Class Access
Our memberships are built on flexibility and freedom. You can attend any eligible classes while your membership is active.
Sometimes we may need to cancel, reschedule or adjust a class due to operational reasons, such as instructor illness or venue issues. If that happens:
• We will do our best to offer an alternative class at your level during your membership
• You are welcome to attend any suitable class, subject to availability
• Because memberships provide unlimited access rather than specific sessions, cancelled classes do not qualify for refunds, credits or compensation
4. Course Cancellations, Refunds & Transfers
Courses are designed to develop skills week-by-week, so consistency matters.
If you need to cancel or postpone:
• You must notify us at least 7 days before the course begins
• If you cancel before this deadline, we may offer a transfer or partial refund (admin fee may apply)
• After the course has started, no refunds, credits or transfers can be offered, even if you stop attending
• Missed sessions cannot be carried forward or used as credit.
5. Attendance & Participation
• Arrive on time and wear suitable clothing and footwear
• Respect for Others: We want everyone to feel comfortable, safe and respected. Unwelcome, intrusive or inappropriate behaviour or personal approaches toward classmates or staff will not be tolerated. Please keep all interactions friendly, considerate and community-spirited.
If something doesn’t feel right, please speak with your instructor in the first instance as most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally. If the issue needs further escalation, please refer to our Complaints & Feedback process in Section 13 below.
• Feedback and instruction during class is the job of the teacher. Please avoid correcting or teaching fellow dancers unless specifically invited to by the instructor. Everyone learns best when guidance comes from the same source ie. The Instructor
• You are responsible for your own belongings
• Please tell us about any health concerns before dancing
• We may refuse participation if behaviour is unsafe or disruptive
6. No Recording Without Consent
• No videos, photos or audio recordings may be taken in class without prior permission
• We may take promotional photos or videos occasionally; please let us know if you prefer not to appear in advance or step aside.
7. Private Lessons & Vouchers
• Private lesson times depend on instructor and venue availability. There may be an additional charge if we need to hire a studio space or if the Instructor agrees to travel to the client.
• Vouchers are valid until the stated expiry date ( usually 6 months)
• Vouchers are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash but they are transferable.
• Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced
8. Health & Liability
Dance involves physical activity where slips, trips and bumps can happen.
By taking part:
• You accept full responsibility for your own health and safety
• We are not liable for injuries, losses or damages except where caused by our negligence
• Please dance within your own ability
9. Intellectual Property
All choreography, teaching materials and media are our creative property.
Please do not reproduce, share or teach any content without permission.
10. Data Privacy
We collect only the information needed for bookings and communication.
• We never sell your data
• You may opt out of promotional messages at any time
See our Privacy Policy for full details.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as needed. When we do, we’ll publish the revised version with a new date.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes are handled by the Scottish courts.
13. Complaints & Feedback
We want everyone to have a positive experience with us. If you ever have concerns or wish to make a formal complaint, please do so in writing by email. We will acknowledge your message promptly and aim to provide a full response within 10 business days. If the matter requires more time to investigate, we will keep you updated and let you know when to expect a final reply.
