About Us
Meet the energetic Shannon Shiell, the director of Academia de Salsa. Shannon brings a lifetime of global experience and a deep connection to Latin American culture into her work in the UK events world.
Having spent her childhood traveling the world and feeling most at home in Mallorca. Shannon's path led her to postgraduate study and academic posts in Colombia and Brazil, where she became fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Driven by homesickness for the rhythms, warmth, and community of Latin America, she founded Academia de Salsa as a place to dance, connect, and keep the spirit of salsa alive in the UK. She also ran Club Cubana for the Cuban Solidarity Campaign for many years.
Shannon specialises in delivering vibrant, culturally rich experiences as a respected events consultant and organiser for specialist agencies and corporate clients across the UK .
